Connectorized single fiber cables (pigtails and jumpers) are used in almost all products for cable termination of the FIST system.
Single-mode fiber optic cable assemblies are designed for use in telecommunications, CATV, datacommunications and wide area
network applications. Tyco Electronics offers three ranges of cable assemblies: one including standard connectors, the other including low loss connectors that offer superior optical performance and a consumer grade.

Pigtails are single fiber cables preassembledwith a connector at one end. They are typically used to terminate primary coated fiber to optical equipment. Jumpers are single fiber cables preassembled with a connector at both ends. They are typically used to cross-connect patch panel to patch panel and to interconnect patch panels to optical equipment. For all single-mode connectors used on the pigtails and jumpers the matching connector mating adapter kits are available and can be ordered separately.
